One of the most famous things in the Bahamas has to be the swimming pigs. These friendly four-legged creatures can be found swimming in the sea in several locations. Pigs aren’t native to the Bahamas, but they’ve found their way there anyway. If you’d like to see them or even swim with them, here’s where you can swim with pigs in the Bahamas. The original location is Pig Beach at Big Major Cay. But you can also find pigs swimming in several other places, including Abaco, Rose Island, and Freeport.

Visit Blue Holes National Park

If you’re in the Bahamas to take in some of the incredible natural wonders, you don’t want to miss out on Blue Holes National Park. Located on Andros, the park is named after the freshwater “holes” and freshwater reservoirs that can be found all over. It’s a great place for hiking, camping, swimming, and birdwatching. There are also amazing underwater caves that can be explored by snorkelers or scuba divers. Choose to get in the water or stay on dry land, depending on which one appeals to you most.

Go to the Junkanoo World Museum

The Bahamas has a rich culture, and you don’t want to leave without exploring it and learning about it. One of the best places you can go to is the Junkanoo World Museum, which you can find in Nassau next to the University of the Bahamas. The museum will teach you all about the famous street parade that takes place on New Year’s Day, including the music, dance, and costumes. Of course, if you visit over New Year, you can experience it for yourself.
