Offering unique vacation experiences to revitalize mind, body and soul, Walker Wellness Retreats offer an individualized experience focused on improving health and wellbeing. Founded in June 2016 by Amy Walker, a mental health therapist and self-confessed world travel addict, she and her husband wanted to share their love of globe-trekking and having a pro-active, positive impact on the lives of others.
Enlisting the expertise of local workshop teachers, yoga instructors and massage therapists, Amy and her husband offer small group adventures that are fully organized and prepared inhouse. All that a client needs to do is turn up and they find that everything has been taken care of. They even research the best locations and potential experiences to create an intimate travel journey that will make lasting memories.
A SENSORY EXPERIENCE
Wanting their clients to be able to self-reflect and hit the reset button while on their retreats, Amy and her husband have come to understand the importance of engaging all of the senses while removing as much of the unnecessary stress that travelling can sometimes create.
As such each trip includes transportation throughout the retreat, accommodation at hotels, resorts or cabins that come with a 4- or 5-star rating, a variety of activities and healthy meals as well as breathtaking scenery on tours that are off the beaten path and sublime. Participant groups are usually under twelve people and everyone is at least over the age of eighteen.
Amy explains that their primary wellness retreat takes place in their beautiful eight bedroom, seven bathroom cabin home which is located in the heart of Southern Utah, with immediate access to the stunning landscapes of Zion and Bryce National Parks. It’s a great base and perfectly suited to the retreats, however
Walker Wellness Retreats also hosts all-inclusive vacation escapes around the world.
As a standard, the trips are all luxurious and all-inclusive and duration largely depends on the retreat. As an example, the trip to Zion National Park lasts three nights and four days.
And, according to Amy, the packages on offer are updated every six months to make sure that returning customers always have something new and exciting.
“It’s so important that when clients return, they have something new and interesting that can surprise them,” she says.
Understanding the customer needs is very important to Amy and she explains that they send a questionnaire to every client to learn what is most important to them in a retreat.
“This is a superb way to get them to take the time and truly consider what it is that they want to get out of their journey,” she says, “It also prompts questions so that we are able to plan in the right direction.”
The upcoming year is going to be a very exciting one for Walker Wellness Retreats as in March they are planning the Zion National Park Yoga Retreat, in May they are visiting Bali and September will involve a trip to Egypt and Jordan!
