Cepha’s INN. Uganda.

*As seen in The Logbook

With many reasons to visit Kabale district in South Western Uganda, including excellent golfing excursions, business trips and guided tours to visit the famous mountain gorillas, it is good to know there is a hotel that is leading the way in guest comfort.

Cepha’s INN is a five minute drive from Kabale town and only 12km from Lake Bunyonyi. As was covered when we reviewed them earlier this year, they are the chosen pit-stop for many tourists coming to the region for work, leisure or to embark on a tour up Muhavura mountains to enjoy the myriad of wildlife available.. Indeed, two of the more popular attractions in the area are gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park which is only a two hour drive away and visiting the second deepest lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Boasting superb accommodation facilities, the hotel offers guests numerous rooms ranging from singles all the way through to executive suites. And on the ground floor is an on-site bar and restaurant, gardens, swimming pool and health club.

Employing fifty well trained and local staff, Cepha’s Inn provides a comfortable atmosphere and environment. Forty-five rooms are decorated in a modern style and boast all the requirements of the modern traveller including WIFI, fabulously comfortable beds, airy rooms and hot showers. The design was intended to be neat and spacious and the rooms enjoy king sized mattresses, white walls, crisp white linen, furniture and balconies.

Most of the linen is sourced in local stores in Kampala but some is imported from Dubai and China. In-room entertainment includes Multichoice (DSTV Africa) which includes international sporting and local news channels.  The rooms all enjoy a great deal of natural light and from the windows guests can see the hilly landscape of Kabale.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

The hotel is not rambunctious. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning on the lower ground floor which does get quite busy and during the day there are usually swimmers at the pool or people sitting in the gardens enjoying lunch. Otherwise the hotel is quite peaceful.

While the native language of the area is Rukiga, all official communication is conducted in English. Among the regular amenities guests can request morning wake up calls and room service is available at a charge. WIFI is available but a range of local newspapers can be found at reception.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

After 10pm there is a “no noise time” out of respect to the guests, the only time that this is lifted is on New Year’s Eve when it begins after 12.30 am.

For those seeking to explore, management would suggest Lake Bunyonyi which is a beautiful lake formed in the valleys of Kabale. Also visiting Mgahinga National park and climbing Mountain Muhavura in Kisoro should definitely be included in any visit.
