The nature and tourism champion Geotours Del Guaviare, was founded in Colombia in 2013 by Mr. Julian Eduardo Niño and Milton Yesid Niño. Forming part of an endeavour to empower the local communities through tourism it was created during a time when Guaviare was beginning to emerge as a must-visit destination in Colombia.
A precision operation involving six coordinators, four logistic support personnel and ten guides, the staff are all locals with experience in community tourism and the best of what Guaviare has to offer.
The growth of the tourism industry in Guaviare has benefitted the communities here greatly and has been the root cause for many business developments and expansions. Creating transportation and logistics businesses, restaurants, hotels, guide and tour associations and rural service providers excited to offer their services to tourists.
THE TOURS
As a nature tourism agency, Geotours offer a complete package that caters for tourists and travellers wanting to gain the most adventure with as little difficulty as possible. Their team of young entrepreneurs can create a tour including eco-guides and ethno-tourism, farm stays, canoeing and hikes, caving and dolphin watching. Accommodation, logistics and medical and travel insurance can also be handled inhouse, allowing clients to enjoy the unique and memorable experience in a destination full of magical realism.
Locked in an area not greatly known for its different seasons, tours can operate every day of the year making it a great destination for bucket list adventures and last minute jaunts.
Julian explains that the tours offer a mix of experiences from many destinations in Colombia. For example, they have Macarenias plants such as those of Caño Cristales, cave art that’s over 10,000 years old at the national park Chiribiquete and freshwater dolphins in their natural environment in Bolivia and Leticia.
ACCOMMODATION
Where you stay can make all the difference and there is a choice of hotels in the city of San José del Guaviare for those who long for a hot shower and a deep mattress after a day of touring. While, for adventurers and nature lovers there is an even wider range of options of cabins and rural farms that offer an excellent overnight experience.

2019/2020
This year, Geotours will be offering flights to the Chiribiquete National Park from the 25th– 28th October. Five days and four nights at the Guayanes Shield where two days will be spent in Caño Crystals, two days in Guaviare and the last day the overflight.
