THE GUESTHOUSE
Situated on Kingsmead Road, in the heart of Borrowdale in Harare the Guesthouse comprises of fourteen rooms. All tastefully decorated, benefitting from en-suites bathrooms and access to the verandah and private courtyards. There are twelve king-size beds, which can be made up into twin beds if necessary, and two of the rooms have queen sized beds. For the best sleep possible, the guesthouse has top quality, extra length beds that are made up with crisp 100% percale linen, seasonal hypo-allergenic duvets, pillows of the guest’s choice, as well as electric blankets for the colder months.
Guests like to know that they will have a good night’s sleep and a great shower or bath. These two elements are the unwritten rule of good hospitality. Understanding this, all of the Kingsmead Guesthouse bathrooms are equipped with high-pressure showers, heated towel rails, luxury bath sheets and select toiletries. Six of the bathrooms also have free-standing baths in them.
Each room comes with a silent mini-bar fridge, flat screen LED TV offering a full DSTV menu of shows, tea and coffee facilities, hair dryers, international power points, ceiling fans and eco wall heaters.
Office facilities are available for those business travellers who need to be connected and over above the great WIFI, there is also access to a telephone, printer and a copier.
FOOD
Each morning a healthy, continental or full English breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining room or on the verandah overlooking the pool. Evenings can be spent in one of the spacious lounges with a fire place, or at the stylish, contemporary bar which is very well stocked and leads onto the verandah.
KEEPING GREEN
Skilfully combining luxurious hospitality with a conscious consideration for the environment, Kingsmead Guesthouse uses environmentally friendly solar panels for water heating and makes use of energy-saving lighting and appliances. Grey water reticulation is used for the garden and during power outages, which are still common throughout Africa, they are completely self-sufficient.
