There really are some beautifully tropical parts of the world that you need to think about visiting, but the chances are, the places don’t even cross your mind because you’re not wired to think about them. Social media has got you thinking about all of the places that everyone is visiting at the minute, and the trend seems to be city breaks, especially places like Amsterdam. But tucked away in little corners of the world, are islands that are just waiting for you to come and explore. You don’t necessarily have to spend years travelling to them, and you’re not going to have to dig your hand in your pocket much at all. All you need to do is have that sense of adventure that some people are missing, and a will to travel to parts of the world that might not be as popular some of of the places plastered all over social media. So, here are some of the most beautiful tropical parts of the world, and how you can get yourself to them this year!
Bali
Bali is one of the best places in the world, and if you get to the point where you just can’t travel anymore without heading to Bali, well you’re really missing out. Bali is just one of those places that you leave thinking, ‘I really did have an amazing time’. If you really wanted to, you could spend the whole of our days exploring and doing something fun, because there seriously is that much to do there. From taking a trip into Ubud and doing doing the rice fields with the swings, to relaxing on Kuta beach and watching the sunset at one of the local beach bars, there’s just seriously so much to do. The weather is generally warm and sunny for the most of the year, you just want to avoid rainy season in September through to January!
Borneo
We’re following a theme with the B’s here, but Borneo is definitely something that you should be putting on your list if you want something that’s just going to give you everything. It’s not a built up island, but it sure is beautiful and tropical. There are plenty of Borneo tours that you could take to get a real insight into what the island is all about. If you were to take a tour on the first day or two, you would then know exactly what was around you, which makes the exploring even easier! But we do think it’s one of the best places to simply kick back, relax, and take in the stunning scenery around you!
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is getting a bit more press lately, and for all of the right reasons. It has a climate really similar to Bali, so you can expect to be walking around in the mega hot heat all of the time. But it’s such a bustling place, and you really will be overwhelmed with the fast paced vibe, and the millions of things that there is to see and do. Taking a tour around some of the temples would definitely be on our hit list, as they really are something amazing to stand before!
