Glamping Cadiz in Spain was founded by Amparo Barón, in 2014 and is part of the finca Dehesa de las Yeguas which has belonged to his family for generations. The main house on the land is known as the Cortijo Dehesa de las Yeguas and has been recently opened to guests.
GLAMPING CADIZ
After studying in England, Amparo worked with his family at the finca. In return for this work he owns 4 hectares of land which is where the Glamping Cadiz is situated.
With four safari tents, each large enough to comfortably fit four adults and one child in a folding bed, Glamping Cadiz may not be the biggest, but it is very peaceful. Even in the busiest times of spring and summer guests are guaranteed an exclusive high level of privacy.
The only staff consists of a cleaning lady, a maintenance man and a pair of part time gardeners. The tents are generously spaced to allow the impression of being by yourself in the middle of the woods.
Amparo says, “Most of my guests say that once you are here, you calm down in five minutes and the atmosphere completely envelops you.”
THE TENTS
The Safari tents are custom built to Amparo’s specifications. The canvas and structure come from Pakistan and the wooden decking and wood interior are all made to measure by his carpenter. The decoration comes from his family’s furnisher and local markets, while the fire kilns come from Greece.
Luxuries include devilishly comfortable beds and rain-fall showers in tents in the middle of the wilderness. Boasting some of the most spectacular views of the centenary pine tree wood and a sky full of stars.
Other amenities such as WIFI, fridge freezers and equipped kitchens are also provided for. These amenities are very important as the guests who mostly visit are families with children and many couples looking to escape from the city to get some good solid rest and relaxation with some homely comforts on hand.
CORTIJO DEHESA DE LAS YEGUAS
The country house known as the Cortijo Dehesa de las Yeguas, has a lot of history and is very significant to Amparo. He explains that the finca (estate) use to breed bulls and Spanish horses. Both he and his grandfather loved horses and he has included this as much as possible in the decoration of the Cortijo Dehesa de las Yeguas. A guest will find authentic cowbells and an old saddle in the sitting room.
“It is a cozy and charming house,” Amparo says, “Full of antique country traditions and atmosphere.”
Accommodation includes two double rooms and one triple room, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a big sitting room with a huge fireplace that’s quite relaxing and lovely in the evenings. There is also an outside porch and a swimming pool area. All decorated in a classic, rural style.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Thanks to the small size of the finca, Amparo is able to be involved more with each of the guests and ensure that they have an unforgettable experience. Guests should take away more good memories than they arrived with.
“I try to discover what they really like and want to do during their time here,” he says, “Those special things that would make their visit that much more enjoyable. And we do our best to meet their likes. I believe that having a professional team and a deep love of what you do, is a good start for guest satisfaction.”
