Allroundsafaris. Self-drive Safaris around Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

*As seen in The Logbook.

Offering bespoke, tailor made safari experiences for small groups, Allroundsafaris was founded in 2003 by Annamarie Burger and her late husband Schalk Burger. It was their love of nature, wildlife and the desire to share it that inspired them to form the company.

Allroundsafaris contracts the best safari guides to offer their clients the most professional service.

“When we do a guided self-drive in Botswana, a Professional Botswana Guide does the guiding from Maun into Moremi and Chobe to Kasane.  In Namibia we contract Professional guides for the duration of the safari. These guides have the most experience, are highly engaging and represent us very well. ”

On average the safari’s have a duration of between 10 to 15 days. Some of the highlights in Namibia include Windhoek, Waterberg, Caprivi, Etosha, Damaraland, Swakopmund, Sesriem and Sossusvlei. The Botswana highlights are the Makgadikgadi Pans, Maun, Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Kasane and ending your tour at the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Livingstone in Zambia. When travelling with Allroundsafaris you get to experience unique interactions with interesting cultures such as a stay in a Bushman Village in the Tsumkwe area. Or what do you think of experiencing a night underneath the stars at the Makgadikgadi Pans?

Annamarie explains that they organize guided group tours as well as self-drives for individuals. Allroundsafaris offers a package of accommodation bookings, travel documents and a detailed itinerary including GPS coordinates. Their expert knowledge is excellent to make sure you are fully prepared to go on your safari!

“We encourage our guests to take pictures and our safaris are ideal for photography, and it is included in the normal safari route,” she says, “We rent 4×4 equipped vehicles with rooftop tents for the clients. This not only provides a safe zone for sleeping but additionally an immediate vantage point for taking pictures at times like sunrise or sunset.”

Included within the guided safari package are fully equipped 4×4 vehicles with camping equipment and rooftop tents, fuel, communication equipment and pre-booked lodge/hotel/National Park/Game Reserve accommodation as well as included excursions. Park entrance fees and vehicle fees are included and breakfasts, lunch and supper are provided as per the itinerary.

As many of the trails used are only accessible by 4×4 vehicles, Annamarie says that many of their clients see the parts of Africa they’ve never seen before. Even if they are seasoned explorers. Thanks to this, many clients often return as friends, eager to see more.

“We are after all a family owned and operated company that specializes in guided self-drive safaris in the remote and pristine areas of Southern Africa,” she says, “It’s a full immersion into the experience as you won’t just be another passenger, you will be the explorer.”
